By Car
Highway 6 is a well maintained highway servicing local traffic as well as logging trucks and chip trucks in transit. A local highway map, ferry schedules, and links to highway reports and customs information for Canadians and Americans. Cars can be rented in Nelson, Castlegar or Revelstoke to the north.

By Bus
Nelson is the only bus connection to the valley. Greyhound connects there from Vancouver and Calgary. Local Transit buses run to Slocan City every day but Sunday, and to New Denver and Nakusp only on Tuesday and Thursday. It's a good idea to make a reservation because the bus is sometimes full, especially for the whole trip. Queen City Limo (250 352-9829) in Nelson will charter their 12-passenger van for Slocan Valley adventures.

By Air
Air Canada flys their JAZZ service to Castlegar twice a day.

By Bike
The Slocan Valley is known as a good road ride because of the great views and relatively light traffic. Be careful of narrow shoulders in a few places and some rough surfaces, especially in the spring.
