The Slocan Valley Cycling Club is a nonprofit community service bike club based in New Denver, BC. The seasonal calendar offers up to one hundred hours of insured on/off-road activities. The Club's affiliation with the provincial cycling association (Cycling BC) gives a direct voice to each member in the management of bicycling for recreation, transportation, and sport in BC.
Our mission:
To promote and provide services, programs, and events that enable interested persons, especially youth, to participate in the sport of bicycling to the extent of their capacity, choice, and commitment.
Our purposes:
a. To establish, promote, maintain and conduct a recreational and competitive bicycling club;
b. to arrange and conduct courses, training programs, skills-clinics, club races, exhibitions, guest appearances, public meetings and conferences such as directly or indirectly advance the sport of bicycling;
c. to establish, promote, maintain and conduct an amateur bicycle racing team consisting, when possible, of equal numbers male and female participants;
d. to offer and grant, and/or contribute, wholly or in part, to the awarding of prizes or distinctions to worthy groups or individuals, not necessarily members of the Slocan Valley Cycling Club;
e. to co-operate with and/or affiliate with any individual, group or association(incorporated or not) whose objects are altogether or in part similar to those of the Slocan Valley Cycling Club;
f. to organize, promote and stage bicycle races sanctioned under the authority of the provincial association, and so contribute to amateur sport;
g. to do any and all such other things as are incidental, necessary or conducive to the attainment of the above purposes or any one of them.
